She crossed my path, like an eagle across the sun,
a cooling shadow upon my face
Her smile was light upon her lips,
like delicate and perfect lace.
She stands with me, like shadows upon the waters,
Changing with the passing time
The memory of her simple touch
Will always, always be mine.
When night, it comes, the shadows will change
now moonlit, instead of sun
And I’ll ever remember when
our two shadows became one.
