Word Delivery

I can say it a million ways, or just in a few words
I can write it as normal or do it backwards
Try it in French or Spanish, or even Chinese
Or even between a cough and a sneeze,
Sometimes mere words are just not enough
With phrases that seem somewhat “off the cuff”
I’d need you to hear the warmth in my tone
And know that you will never be alone.
To hear the love that comes from within
Like the sweet sweet notes of a lone violin
The written word may have the context
in letter, or poem or electronic text;
But the voice has timbre, tone and inflection
that adds to the rest of my inadequate diction.
