Those Words

She said to me
Those three little words
That many men want to hear,
But I did not want to hear them…

I had told her
Not to fall in love
With one such as I;
But she did, and the words came…

She needed to know
If I felt the same…
Could I lie? Not to her.
So I said the words… undoubtedly true.

I never say it
flippantly,
Always in earnest
Always from the heart.

It aches me
To say it, for I love her.
And I only know one way to love;
Always and forever,
Forever and always.

She holds
A piece of my heart
And trust her, I do
no matter what life brings
I love her, forever true.
