Mirror

Do not look
for truth
in the mirror
For there
it cannot be found

In it
is a
lifeless visage
whether glass
be square
or round.

Perceived
as we’d like;
False reflections.
We look to
reaffirm ourselves.

Look instead
upon closed eyelids
to see
the truth we hide,
and never tell.
