I am usually very insecure in the actual merit of my Poems, so trying to enter a contest, even one that is not for prizes or even worldwide notoriety is scary. Yet I felt that I should enter one that was posted to one of mt blog posts recently. This is my “Desirable Purity Article/Poetry Contest Entry”
Minutes of longing
that felt like years,
Hours of separation
that nearly brought tears,
Days of conversations
that brought us together,
Nights under the stars
that could last forever,
Weeks of loving
that eclipsed the world,
Months of your love
that were undeserved,
One day you left
and never returned,
No reason was given;
I felt, a lover spurned,
My soul exposed,
My Heart ripped out,
From within my throat
A silent shout,
I am a shell
of what I’d become,
You actions will never
Ever be undone.

I enjoyed reading this a lot. Many people can relate to it. Just one question, the 6th line from the bottom up, is that suppose to say within?
Great job
Thank you Nadine, you are correct, I typed the wrong word, and I read that at least 4 times before posting 🙂

Goodness, I remember that broken heart! It’s like you were there.
Good luck in the contest!
Thank you! I think we all experience something like it at least once 🙂 I’m sure there will be many other’s that surpass mine in beauty, it is enough to have favourable comments like yours. Thank you again.
