Stroll

Along petal-strewn paths
of the garden we walk,
together, hand in hand,
silent; no need for talk.

Beneath the midday sun,
but in the shelter of,
the branches and leaves
that sway up above

In the gentle breezes
that cools the city streets
But away from the noise
of the people that meet.

On the trees are blossoms
that to the air lend scent,
Amidst them we stroll,
Quiet and content.

By your side, I’m complete,
Wanting of nothing
When you face me and smile
My heart starts to sing.

Through the gardens let’s stroll
Around and around
Until we must be,
apart, homeward bound.
