I have been working on a poem temporarily titled “Moonlight”, it is not complete, and might never be, but today I saw a painting by Ar Vhee that inspired this little piece (not related to her beautiful poem in the same post):
Seated upon the windowsill,
thoughts adrift on the wind
a firefly’s small ember
her heated heart is aching
The gibbous moon plays her song
a sorrowful serenade
her diffused light now softens
a lover’s fading tirade.
Legs bathed by the windowed light
rested from their running,
the forest scent upon her hair
fresh, washed by the wind.
A downcast face, shadowed and still,
a tear upon her cheek;
cry not my Love, I’m here
the future need not look bleak.
Her post was titled Mystifying Sonata Of Her Heart.
