You, not me.

Take the wind and gently blow,
send it my way, so I’ll know
you’re doing well, happy even,
in a world that’s softly grieving;
A place in time, lost, alone,
lit by winter’s ice-cold tone;
If I could send my warmth to you,
fast as lightning, straight and true,
To your heart I’d let if fly,
All my love, just don’t cry;
Frozen tears would suit you not
Take my heart, take all I’ve got,
You matter more, than I ever will
take my being, stave the chill,
Should I fade and cease to be,
Be strong, be sure, be you, be free!

Untitled 24112014

Upon my shoulder
her head rests,
the wind teases
her hair;
Her scent calms me,
takes me away
from the world
and it’s cares.

The warmth of her arms
around me,
comforts and
soothes;
True love is found
in wisdom,
not in youth.

Our bodies close,
beneath the moon,
her soft light,
a beacon;
Two hearts, one love
a lifetime
to reckon.

Farewell

Upon a journey
she left,
with nary a glance behind,
toward a future
uncertain,
but ripe with much unknown.

Longing for her touch
just once,
But that might be just too much,
wishing for a kiss,
no, never!
For insane I’d then be driven.

Goodbye I said, ‘bye,
so long,
Outwardly smiling at her,
Goodbye, my heart sighed,
adieu,
Goodbye, so long, farewell.

I’ve seen Love

I’ve seen Love
in the hands of a father
laid upon his son’s shoulder.
I’ve seen Love,
in the eyes of a mother
laying her child to sleep.
I’ve seen Love
in the rising sun,
cast upon a newlywed’s first dawn.
I’ve seen Love
in the smile of a stranger,
helped across the street.
I’ve seen Love
in your smallest gestures,
not meant for me to see.
I’ve seen Love
in the way you look at me,
your hand upon my cheek.
I’ve felt Love
each time I’ve seen you,
in every moment by your side.
I’ve felt Love
in joy and sadness
of every tear you weep.
