Inked

More than him, you’ll never need
although you may want…
“X” marks the spot on his heart
inked permanently there…
marked for you, forevermore
impossible to remove…
always there for you,
never wavering…
only you… only you.

Dragon’s Loyalty Award

I got  another of those WordPress community awards, I’m not too big on them since they remind me of chain letters, which I avoid (weird for someone who writes I guess).  Even if I nominate someone, I certainly won’t expect them to continue it if they don’t like to do it.  Sheth from over at Sheth’s Perspective sent it to me, so I”m doing my bit 🙂  I follow Sheth’s blog because I rather like the poetry there, and I think it’s a good poetry blog to follow if you like poetry, so go on and give it a read.

The Dragon’s Loyalty Award is an award for the loyal fan/commenter, whether the recipient is a fellow blogger or just someone who follows and comments regularly. –Vintage Book Fairy

The rules for Dragon’s Loyalty Award are:

1   Visit and thank the blogger who nominated you.
2   Acknowledge that blogger on your blog and a link back.
3  You must share  7  things other bloggers may not know about you.
4   Nominate up to  15  bloggers for Dragon’s Loyalty Award, provide a link to their blogs in your post, and notify them on their blogs.
5   Copy and paste the award somewhere on your blog.

Since my Poetry blog is relatively new, I can easily share 7 things that you may not know about me.

1. I live in Latin America, I do not speak Spanish.

2. I like Beer, but prefer a good sunset or sunrise

3. I like short pants, this tropical weather is perfect for it

4. I like the rain, especially those downpours that are not too heavy or too light, that last for about half of an hour

5. I love the sea and ocean, or more specifically the shore where they meet the land

6. I like to think that without Love, there’s be no poetry or stories, you have to love something or someone to want to express it in this fashion.

7. I sometimes eat my vegetables.

For my nominees, I’ll choose a few, and as I said earlier, I don’t personally expect any one of them to follow through on this 🙂  I thank them for reading my words and for their kind comments and encouragement.

Liebster Awards

Jody has nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award! I think Jody is an amazing writer and I am flattered that she would nominate me too. Thank you for reading my blog.  Although I am partial to her Poetry, Jody’s regular blog-posts give a great insight into herself and her process.

Here are my answers to her Questions:

1. What’s the main reason why you have a blog?

I chose to do this particular blog to record somewhere the thoughts that were suddenly flowing through my mind, the poems that I write are all “inspired”, very little thought goes into them, they mostly flow from my mind to the keyboard, sometimes people inspire them, at other times, random thoughts or ideas do the trick, and if I don’t record them, they are then forever lost to me.

2. What is most important to you in the world?

To find the happiness that expression through the arts bring to me and to those who see and read what I’ve done and find something in it that affects them in any way.

3. If you’re experiencing writer’s block, how do you overcome this?

I don’t ever force the words, either they come or they don’t, if I ever stumble while writing a piece, I leave it for the time, and come back to it later.

4. What most inspires you to write?

Humans and their capacity to Love, whether it’s to love a family member, someones else, something else or a deity, and how these interactions impact upon myself.

5. Who was your greatest role model as a child?

My greatest role model is my father, he’s not a poet or a writer, an artist or a musician, but his views molded me, shamefully I have not lived up to his ideals, but his words are still in my heart.

6. If you looked back on your life, is there anything you wish you had done differently?

No, because to have done something different would negate the person I am today, my mistakes and my triumphs have shaped me, the people I’ve chosen as friends, those I’ve loved, have made me who I am

7. What’s your favourite post you have created and why?

My favourite post / poem so far on this blog is “The Chosen Path”, it is a poem that I did not feel the need to write all in one go, but took it one step at a time, and it contains my heart and soul, not expressed as beautifully as many others here can, but adequate for me.

8. If you could go anywhere in the world, past, present or future, where would you go?

I would love to have been in England at the time when Shakespeare had written his plays, no explanation should be necessary for that one 🙂

9. What would you like to be doing in 5 years time?

In 5 years time, I’d like to still be inspired daily to write

10. What do you hope to achieve by writing?

By writing, I simply hope to be able to express myself as my heart sees fit, the brain is simply a conduit for the heart and soul of art.
