drought

Where did the world go, in the blink of an eye?
Why do I stand alone on the plains?
Why is there no one around to hear my cry?
I’m dry, parched, in need of the rain.

Why is there only one single heart beating?
why aren’t there any clouds in the sky?
Where is my love, I’m alone, kneeling…
No water in sight, but that from my eyes.

tattooed

She walked upon the rocky shore,
a dress that matched the sky;
The sky, so clear, not a cloud in sight,
upon the soft wind, a seagull’s cry

The memory of her doesn’t fade,
it’s like a tattoo upon my mind;
it’s vibrance and colours may change,
but the imprint forever left behind.

the memories remain,
the feelings persist,
the joys amplified,
the sadness… keeps her memory closer
star-crossed – loved, lost, live!

Farewell

Upon a journey
she left,
with nary a glance behind,
toward a future
uncertain,
but ripe with much unknown.

Longing for her touch
just once,
But that might be just too much,
wishing for a kiss,
no, never!
For insane I’d then be driven.

Goodbye I said, ‘bye,
so long,
Outwardly smiling at her,
Goodbye, my heart sighed,
adieu,
Goodbye, so long, farewell.

Loved and Lost?

I’ve heard it often,
that three word phrase;
“Loved and Lost”
on their dismal days,
But I cannot say
that I agree
with such a saying
those words, those three…
I’ve loved, not often,
but enough to know,
nothing was lost,
Truth, this is so!
Each time I’ve loved,
each time I’ve gained,
each time I’ve given,
and gotten again
newer insights
into this thing,
this thing called love
that gives us wings.
I’ve loved truly,
deeply too;
I meant each word
of every “I love you”.
Do I love them still?
Oh yes, indeed;
my heart, never a slave,
my soul, never in need;
Each love different,
yet each the same,
lights in my life,
like a candle’s flame.
Loved and lost?
Not for me!
I love, I live!
Love stays with me.

Love

She smiled at me
and stole my heart,
That twinkle in her eye
was just the start

In love I fell,
In love I’ve stayed;
In love with her
’til my dying day

She loved me too
but she was not mine,
Our love together,
but for a time…

She’ll always know
how I’ve loved her so
So much, in fact,
I let her go.
