drought

Where did the world go, in the blink of an eye?
Why do I stand alone on the plains?
Why is there no one around to hear my cry?
I’m dry, parched, in need of the rain.

Why is there only one single heart beating?
why aren’t there any clouds in the sky?
Where is my love, I’m alone, kneeling…
No water in sight, but that from my eyes.

You, not me.

Take the wind and gently blow,
send it my way, so I’ll know
you’re doing well, happy even,
in a world that’s softly grieving;
A place in time, lost, alone,
lit by winter’s ice-cold tone;
If I could send my warmth to you,
fast as lightning, straight and true,
To your heart I’d let if fly,
All my love, just don’t cry;
Frozen tears would suit you not
Take my heart, take all I’ve got,
You matter more, than I ever will
take my being, stave the chill,
Should I fade and cease to be,
Be strong, be sure, be you, be free!

Tears from Heaven

Tears from heaven, upon my skin
drench my clothes, and my soul within

Falling drops of liquid mercy
Wash me clean, and set me free

Wash my eyes, run down my cheeks
cleanse my soul, remove my iniquity

Tears from heaven, pour down on me
Restore my vision, let me see…
