Your love…

Your Love…

A hammock beneath the trees
on a hot summer’s day,
The wind upon my face
in the shade.

A Friday, after work,
through the rush hour traffic,
The first long sip
of a cold cold ale.

Winter’s first snow,
that chills to the bone,
That deep warm feeling
as I enter our home.

Noontime traffic on a tropic isle,
reggae blasting, horns blaring,
The sound of the waves
as it washes ashore.

A hard work day,
‘neath the equatorial sun,
A Caribbean sunset
From the hammock ‘neath the trees.

… in vain

I stood, still, upon the snaking wall
Hands clasped, fingers entwined
All around me, the singing wind
And upon by face, the moonlight fell
Starlight faint, but present still
A cricket calls, but is silenced quick
The salty spray upon my skin, as
I wait in vain for the Kiss I crave.
